Loft style

Loft style certainly isn’t applicable to every space. The style became popular as a result of the massive transformation of former industrial areas into residential premises. These spaces were typically open plan with few, if any, interior walls.

The style is exemplified by high ceilings and windows, open floorplans, and minimalist furniture. There has even been a recent interest in building loft style homes, often in renovated buildings. As you would expect, these homes have few internal walls in order to maximize space. Where possible, the original materials are kept, often providing an urban or rustic feel to the space. Of course, the home owners don’t have to follow the minimalistic approach to furniture and décor.
